    Beyond the daily yoga, meditation and mindsets practices, this retreat includes a variety of activities designed to bring joy and balance. Whether you're surfing, skating, or enjoying soothing massages, the focus is not just on healing - but on rekindling a sense of play. Connecting back to the joy you would feel as a child. Mornings start with different types of yoga sessions to balance your energies and strengthen your body, followed by afternoons filled with exploration and relaxation. Enjoy nourishing, fresh Sri Lankan food, visit temples, explore beautiful beaches or take a tuk-tuk ride to an afternoon surf.

  • NICKY

    INNER SPACE FOUNDER & YOGA TEACHER

    Nicky is a yoga teacher, lifelong yoga student, roller skater, and baby waves surfer. She discovered yoga in her early twenties, and over the past ten years, it has been life-changing for her. It has helped her heal from PTSD and cultivate a sense of self-love and confidence that she never thought possible. These experiences have shaped her life’s mission: to share how to take yoga beyond physical practice, empowering her students and guiding them back to their true selves.

    Nicky will guide you with awareness and love through Hatha Flow, Embodied Flow, and Yin Yoga practices. Her classes always include meditation and pranayama (breathwork), as this is where the magic truly happens.

    Influenced by traditional Tantric Hatha, Vinyasa, somatics, energy healing, and Kundalini practices, her sessions invite you to dive deeper into self-awareness, balance your energies, calm your nervous system and connect with your subconscious mind. Helping you break through unhealthy patterns and step into your full potential.

    As a trauma-informed yoga teacher, Nicky aims to create a safe space in her classes. With over 900 hours of yoga teacher training and teaching experience in various locations around the world, she ensures her classes are adaptable for all levels, making yoga accessible to everyone.

  • MAIA

    KUNDALINI YOGA TEACHER & MINDSET COACH

    Maia is a mindset coach and Kundalini teacher whose biggest passion is helping visionaries tap into their personal power and reclaim their energy. She’s been practicing yoga for over a decade, and after living in India in 2022 and studying Hatha Yoga in a traditional ashram in the Himalayas, Maia decided to merge energetic principles and Kundalini technology into her mindset work, deepening her coaching practice.

    She’s the founder of Blank Page Lab, a design studio, and of Colectiva, a project that started as a space for her to publish her writings (because if she’s not teaching, she’s writing). Colectiva quickly evolved into in-person workshops and events, all centered around one big question: How can we, as human beings, truly change?

    This question shapes everything she creates, from her programs to her signature workshops, which blend meditations, visualizations, and journaling prompts. Maia’s approach helps people expand their self-concept, breaking free from the old identities they’ve clung to and rewriting their story to align with the life they actually want to live.

    At the Inner Space Sri Lanka retreat, Maia invites you into the world of possibility. She believes we can pull potentials from the quantum field and live them. Her mission is to show you how to rewrite your self-concept so you can step into a version of yourself you never imagined could exist.

    Her frameworks are designed to help you clarify your vision, confront the limiting beliefs and narratives that block you, and release years of outdated patterns—whether through EFT, Kundalini, or other somatic modalities– so you can create space for the new you to step in and own your vision unapologetically, and authentically.

THE VENUE

We will stay at a beautiful luxury beachfront venue. With 4 different yoga shalas, a swimming pool, an onsite skate spot, a spa, and restaurant it has all that we need. Talalla Retreat is a 15 minute tuktuk drive away from Hiriketiya, which is the closest surf break.

The rooms at Talalla Retreat are beautiful little sanctuaries with views on either the garden or the pool. The most serene spaces to relax and have privacy whilst still feeling connected to your jungle surroundings. Only a 1-minute walk away from the beach.

You will have an open-air ensuite bathroom, and a front decking with space to take some time for yourself after your days of exploration and connection.

Your bed will have a mosquito net, a luxurious mattress, and premium bedding - ensuring a restful night of sleep. Rooms will be cleaned daily and daily fresh towels are provided. Your room will also have a fan, a safe, a desk, and wifi.

SHARED DOUBLE €1499

This option is perfect to connect deeper with one of the other female guests, or to share a room with a friend. Our shared double rooms are located on the bottom floor.

The shared double rooms will have two single beds with their own mosquito nets.

DAILY SCHEDULE

  • GROUND

    Arrive and settle into the serene surroundings of Sri Lanka, where we begin our journey with an opening circle and deeply restorative Yin yoga practice. Feel the grounding energy of nature and connect with our intimate community of aligned women, as you let go of the outside world. Setting the tone for your transformation ahead.

  • SURRENDER

    Start your day with the gentle flow of Hatha Moon Yoga, allowing yourself to surrender to the present moment. After a surf lesson or beach relaxation, you’ll dive into a mindset workshop with Maia. Ending the day with embracing the energy of surrendering in a Yin yoga and Yoga Nidra practice. Calming your nervous system and becoming aware of patterns that are no longer serving you.

  • CONNECT

    You’ll have an early rise today for a magical sunrise kayak over a lagoon, and meditation on a secluded beach. This day is filled with opportunities to connect—whether it’s skating, surfing, eating delicious food or relaxing on the beach. We will show you some of our favourite places in Sri Lanka, and practice yoga in a beautiful place we still keep a little secret. As the sun sets, you'll feel deeply rooted in your connection to both nature and self.

  • LOVE

    Explore the power of self-love with a heart opening morning yoga class, and Yin yoga class later in the day. With plenty of free time to surf, skate, or simply unwind, this day is designed to help you rediscover what makes your heart truly happy. Close the day with a healing sound bath, helping you to release deeply in the body and mind.

  • AUTHENTICITY

    Step into your authentic self with an energizing Hatha Sun yoga session, followed by free time to do things that feels the most authentic to you. In the afternoon we will take you to one of our favourite authentic rice and curry restaurants, explore the local beaches and watch the sunset at a Buddhist rock temple. This day is about soaking in the authentic beauty of Sri Lanka’s vibrant culture - while creating space for personal reflection.

  • EXPANSION

    Embrace expansion through a powerful Kundalini Yoga practice that will open up new pathways in your body and mind. The day offers free time for surfing or skating, allowing you to playfully explore new experiences. While the sun sets, enjoy a skate session in between the palm trees or a surf session in Hiriketiya. Ending the day with a powerful workshop near the bonfire to shred old layers of yourself.

  • EMBODIMENT

    Complete your journey with a final Hatha Sun yoga session, integrating everything you’ve learned throughout the week. Reflect on your transformation as you share a final skate or surf with new friends. The retreat ends with a closing circle, leaving you with a deep sense of inner peace and renewed energy.

FAQ

  • Check-in is at 3 pm on Wednesday 5 March 2025. Our opening circle will start at 5 pm. We recommend to arrive at least 1 or 2 days in Sri Lanka before the retreat starts to help you settle in and ground.

  • Check-out is at 12 pm on Tuesday 11 March 2025. We recommend to stay at least one night more in Sri Lanka after the retreat. Guests often choose to stay one night in the nearby town Hiriketiya after the retreat.

  • Bandaranaike International Colombo Airport (CMB). We create a Whatsapp group beforehand so you can share a taxi to the retreat venue. It is also possible to come with public transport.

  • Yes. beginner surfers and (roller)skaters are very welcome. The included surf lesson is for all levels. Please note that for this retreat you have to bring your own skates/skateboard. Surfing and skating are optional, in case you don't want to join these activities you can still enjoy a full balanced program.

  • Yes, your host and main yoga teacher Nicky has a lot of experience in teaching yoga to beginners. She will always give variations in her classes, so you can choose the one that works the best for your body and mind in the given moment. Nicky did 900 hr of yoga teacher trainings with her main focus on Hatha, which is a perfect style of yoga to start your yoga journey with. Hatha is a slower form of yoga which will help you to get a better understanding of the alignment and benefits of the yoga poses.

    We believe that a yoga retreat is the perfect way to get a better understanding of yoga and its healing benefits. We keep the groups of our retreats small so there is a lot of personal attention and 1:1 time with our teachers. There will be different types of yoga like Hatha, Yin, Slow Fow, and Kundalini, so you can learn which one works the best for your body and mind.

  • Yes, Sri Lanka got nominated as number 1 travel destination for female solo-travellers in 2024 by the Time Out.

    Traveling alone is a great way to meet new people, and many women will be coming solo. On this trip we’re all in it together and you’ll be part of the group from the moment you arrive. We will make a Whatsapp group before hand, so you can already connect with other guests.

  • Yes, you need a tourist visa for Sri Lanka, which you can easily get through the Sri Lankan goverment website online.

  • Yes, we cater to special dietary requirements. The included breakfast and dinner meals are a daily-changing buffet, meaning you can choose your own super tasty food with gluten-free options. Sri Lanka is a great travel destination when you are eating plant-based. The Sri Lankan cuisine has a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. If you have any other dietary requirements please let us know when booking your spot.
